Russia has never aimed to seize Crimea, Donbas, or Novorossiya; the main task has been to protect Russian people, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel, APA reports.
“I want to emphasize once again that we have never simply talked about seizing certain territories. Neither Crimea, nor Donbas, nor Novorossiya territories have been our goal. Our goal has been to protect the Russian people who have lived in these lands for centuries, who discovered these lands, shed their blood for them, and built cities, ports, factories, and plants in Crimea, Donbas, Odessa, Nikolaev, and other places,” the minister noted.
