The Russian government will extend its ban on gasoline exports until the end of 2026.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced the decision while speaking to journalists.
"We have decided that the ban on gasoline exports will remain in force until the end of the year for both producers and non-producers," Novak said.
He added that restrictions on diesel fuel exports would be lifted gradually as the domestic market stabilizes. According to Novak, the measure is intended to prevent excessive fuel stockpiles at oil refineries and avoid a decline in refining volumes.
This summer, Russia experienced disruptions in fuel supplies due to changes in logistics chains. In response, the government introduced a series of measures to stabilize the market, including temporary bans on gasoline and diesel exports. The current restrictions had been due to expire on July 31.
