Russia establishes registry for migrants who violate law

A register of monitored individuals has been created on the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs' website, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

This register allows for the checking of information on foreign citizens.

Note that on February 5, the stricter migration laws passed at the end of last year came into effect in Russia. One of these laws is the creation of a register for migrants who violate the law.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced who will be included in the migrant register. Specifically, information about foreign citizens will be added to the register when their temporary stay, temporary residence permit, residence permit, patent, work permit, or employment contract expires, or when they are denied recognition as a refugee or temporary asylum.
