Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Friday denied Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's accusations of Moscow's responsibility for the drone attack that damaged the shield protecting the Chernobyl nuclear power plant reactor, APA reports citing baha breaking news.
"There can be no talk of strikes being carried out on any nuclear infrastructure facilities, nuclear energy infrastructure. Therefore, any assertions that this was the case do not correspond to reality," Pekosv told reporters at a press briefing. "Most likely, we are talking about yet another provocation and fabrication," he added.
Previously, Zelensky said that the Chernobyl shield suffered "significant" damage, pointing out that Russia is "the only state in the world" able to strike nuclear power plants
