A ceasefire has been declared in Russia from 00:00 on May 8 until May 10, the Russian Defense Ministry said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
It was stated that during the ceasefire period, all Russian troop groupings in the “special military operation” zone will completely cease combat operations.
It was noted that during the ceasefire period, the Russian army will halt attacks on deployment points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and facilities related to the military-industrial complex deep inside Ukrainian territory.
The Russian Defense Ministry called on Ukraine to observe the declared ceasefire.
It was emphasized that the Russian army would provide an adequate response to violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the “special military operation” zone or attempts to strike populated areas.
“If Ukraine attempts to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of May 9 in Moscow, the Russian Armed Forces will launch a massive attack on central Kyiv,” the Russian Defense Ministry’s statement said.
The Russian Defense Ministry warned Kyiv’s civilian population and foreign diplomats to immediately leave the city due to the possibility of retaliatory strikes.
