Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday that his country is considering the option of introducing changes to its nuclear doctrine, including lowering the threshold for the use of such weapons in the West, APA reports citing TASS.

Speaking at a press conference in Vietnam, Putin still insisted that Moscow sees "no need" for a "pre-emptive nuclear strike." He spoke about his visit to Pyongyang, underscoring the value of the defense deal the two countries signed and adding that Russia might send high-precision arms to North Korea. Putin also said that Russia could provide other countries with its weapons like the West does to Ukraine.
