“The Russian Federation demands that the United States and Israel immediately stop military operations against Iran,” said Russia’s Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He said Russia strongly condemns the armed attack by Israel and the US against Iran.
According to the Russian diplomat, statements by the US and Israel leave no doubt that their sole objective is regime change in Iran and the destruction of its statehood. He also claimed that Washington views nuclear non-proliferation as a tool for settling political scores.
Ulyanov added that developments in Iran are directly related to the mandate of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and require an immediate response from the organization. He stressed that under no circumstances should any nuclear facility be targeted and said Russia expects the IAEA leadership to provide a clear assessment of the actions of Israel and the US.
