The Russian State Duma has banned the extradition of foreigners who have signed contracts with Russia’s Ministry of Defense or participated in military operations on the Russian side, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
Under the adopted law, foreign citizens who have performed military service in the Russian Federation will not be handed over to other states.
“In addition, it is envisaged to prohibit decisions on the deportation, readmission, or recognition of the undesirability of stay in the Russian Federation with respect to such citizens who are or were performing military service under contract in the Russian army,” the information posted on the website of the Russian State Duma states.
