Russia’s federal communications watchdog Roskomnadzor is set to begin restricting the operation of Telegram, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing RBC.
According to two sources, Roskomnadzor plans to start taking measures today to partially limit the service’s operation. Another source said that measures related to the issue have already been adopted.
It is worth noting that earlier, Mikhail Delyagin, a deputy of the State Duma, said that Telegram would be completely blocked in Russia in September 2026.
Recall that Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube are already fully blocked in Russia.
