A record number of deaths has been reported in Russia, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to the data from regional offices of the Civil Status Registration (ZAQS) the number of deaths in Russia reached 168,000 in April 2025.
Depending on the region, this figure is 15–40% higher compared to the same period last year.
This marks the highest death toll since the pandemic and sets a 15-year record, including both pre- and post-COVID periods.
