The Kremlin does not know whether the United States is holding negotiations with Iran, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, a number of contradictory statements have been observed regarding the situation: “Like you, we are indeed seeing many conflicting statements from all sides. We do not actually know what the reality is. As for Iran’s openness to peace talks, Iran has confirmed this in practice. Until the first attack on Iran, Tehran remained open to continuing negotiations, and in fact these talks were progressing quite well. This is what we and the rest of the world know.”
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump stated that he had postponed strikes on Iran’s energy facilities and that the two sides were holding good and productive talks. Iran, however, denied having any contact with Washington.
