Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy applied to Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
Shvidkoy asked the Head of the Government of Armenia for helping to defend the ex-ambassador of Armenia to Russia, composer Armen Smbatyan and to revise pretrial detention regarding him.
Note that on July 29, ex-ambassador of Armenia to Russia and Israel Armen Smbatyan was detained with his son Sergey Smbatyan by Attorney General's office. They are suspected of fraud. It was noted that the damage amounted to 966 million drams (about 2.5 million dollars) was done to the state by their unlawful actions.
