Russian President Vladimir Putin wished on Thursday happy 70th birthday to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, noting that the latter's visit to the Eurasian country in March gave a "powerful impetus" to the bilateral relations between the two nations, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"I look forward to continuing our constructive dialogue and close joint work on topical issues on the bilateral, regional, and international agenda for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and China," the telegram Putin sent to Xi and the Kremlin later published read.
"Under your leadership, the People's Republic of China has achieved impressive success: the national economy is showing steady growth, the well-being of citizens is increasing, and Beijing's position on the world stage is strengthening," Putin stressed, adding that Xi's re-election showed how much of support he enjoys.
