Russia ranks first in exporting oil and pipeline gas to China, said Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian President, during a briefing on the Putin–Xi Jinping talks, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the talks were substantive: “The heads of state discussed the situation regarding Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba. The positions of Moscow and Beijing on the vast majority of international issues are close or fully aligned.”
Ushakov also noted that Putin and Xi Jinping discussed relations with the United States: “Russia and China’s approaches coincide on many issues. The partnership between the two countries is at an unprecedented level and is not directed against anyone.”
The Russian president’s aide said that Xi Jinping supported the ongoing talks on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi.
He added that Xi invited Putin to pay an official visit to China in the first half of the year, and the Russian leader accepted the invitation.
