The Federal Security Service (FSB) must strengthen efforts to combat terrorism, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting of the board of the Federal Security Service, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

Putin commented on last night’s explosion of a traffic police vehicle near Savyolovsky railway station. He stated that the perpetrator of the terrorist attack had been recruited via the internet. According to Putin, the explosive device was detonated remotely.

The Russian president also noted that there is information about attempts to blow up the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines in the Black Sea.

Putin added that the number of terrorist attacks targeting Russian infrastructure has increased and that its protection must be strengthened. “The number of cybercrimes is also rising, including sabotage by Western intelligence services against critical infrastructure,” he said.

He emphasized the need to enhance protection for senior officials of the Ministry of Defense and the defense industry, government officials, as well as public opinion leaders, journalists, and volunteers. Putin also instructed counterintelligence services to intensify their work in the rear areas of the “special military operation zone.”
