Russia has never refused to develop and restore relations with European countries, said Russian President Vladimir Putin during an operational meeting with members of Russia’s Security Council, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to Putin, relations between Russia and European countries are currently in crisis, and this is not due to Moscow’s fault: “The European crisis itself was caused by the previous US administration and a number of leading European countries. Moscow has never refused to restore relations with Europe.”
The Russian president noted that the Western-backed coup in Ukraine was the cause of the entire chain of tragic events in this direction: “It was they who supported the coup in Ukraine, and this became the cause of the entire chain of tragic events that are still taking place in the Ukrainian direction,” he said.
