Russia and Ukraine must resolve the key issues between themselves, while others can create conditions and act as guarantors, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum while commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, APA's Russia bureau reports.
Putin stressed that Ukraine's attacks on infrastructure cause certain damage to Russia.
According to him, this means only one thing — Russia must strengthen its air defense systems.
Putin added that he currently sees no threats to the Russian economy in the near future.
He emphasized that military operations in Ukraine will end once Russia achieves its objectives.
