President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has removed Sergey Ivanov from membership in the Security Council of Russia, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The presidential decree on Ivanov’s removal from the Security Council was signed today.
On February 4, Putin dismissed Ivanov from his position as Special Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology, and Transport. The Kremlin stated that Ivanov stepped down at his own request.
Recall that Ivanov worked alongside Putin in the KGB and in foreign intelligence. In the Russian Federation, Ivanov has served as Secretary of the Security Council, Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Administration.
