"Each state has the right to choose what to do in the field of security," Russian President Vladimir Putin said this while commenting on Armenia's absence in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit held in Kazakhstan, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

The Russian President noted that Armenia has not announced its withdrawal from the organization.

Putin added that the possibility of Yerevan returning to full-fledged work in the CSTO remains, and Armenia supports all documents of the organization's summit.

The Russian leader believes that Armenia's current approach to the CSTO is dictated by internal political problems and the Garabagh issue.

The Russian president emphasized that the CSTO should not have fought for Yerevan in Garabagh, because in this case there was no external aggression against Armenia.
