Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is the largest joint project in Turkish-Russian history, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at the official ceremony for the delivery of nuclear fuel to the first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
According to him, Akkuyu is a project arousing mutual economic interest. The two countries are expanding cooperation in the field of energy. Putin noted that Russia intends to supply its natural gas to third countries through the territory of Turkiye.
According to Putin, Akkuyu has been equipped with the world's most advanced security system.
"This is not just the construction of the Nuclear power plant, but also the laying of the foundations of a new field and economic sector," stressed the Russian President.
