A protest was held in front of the US Embassy in Yerevan against the presence of American biological laboratories in Armenia, APA reports, citing Sputnik Armenia.
The protesters chanted slogans such as "No to Pentagon’s biological military bases in Armenia" and "No to the US deadly biological laboratories."
The participants also called on the Trump administration to demand the closure of 13 biological laboratories in Armenia from Washington, opposing biological experiments.
Former head of the Armenian State Food Safety Service, Grigor Grigoryan, stated that suspicious experiments are being conducted in the country and claimed that the US program to reduce bio-risks violates the requirements of the Biological Weapons Convention.
Activists at the rally began collecting signatures to declare US Ambassador Kristina Kvien a "persona non grata" and suggested that Armenians living in the United States join the initiative.
