A protest took place in front of the Belarusian embassy in Armenia, APA reports citing Armenian media.
The reason for the protest were statements made by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko directed at Armenians.
The protest participant, political activist Armen Babajanyan expressed hope that the Belarusian ambassador would first be removed from the building by Gagik Tsarukyan, known as a friend of Lukashenko.
Babajanyan presented a joint statement on the issue by the organizations For the Republic, Republic, European Part, European Law, Free Citizen NGOs, and the Asparez club.
The statement includes demands to severe diplomatic relations with Belarus, declare the Belarusian ambassador persona non grata, and give him three days to leave the country.
At the end of the protest, participants threw tomatoes and eggs at the embassy building.
