Life imprisonment has been requested for 15 of the 19 individuals accused in the terrorist attack carried out at the Crocus City Hall concert complex in the Moscow region, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The trial was held at the Second Western District Military Court.
The defendants are charged with preparing terrorist activities, illegal arms trafficking, participation in a terrorist organization, and committing a terrorist act.
The prosecution believes that the direct perpetrators of the attack were Shamsiddin Fariduni, Dalerjon Mirzoyev, Saidakram Rachabalizoda, and Muhammadsobir Fayzov.
According to Russian media, all of the accused, except Rachabalizoda, have admitted their guilt. He has denied being a terrorist and stated that he was “engaged in jihad.”
The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on March 22, 2024. The attack was accompanied by mass shootings and explosions. The assailants opened fire on civilians in the concert hall, set the venue on fire, and then fled the building by car.
The attack was carried out by four armed individuals, all of whom were detained by Russian law enforcement authorities and placed under investigation.
The court has ordered the arrest of 19 individuals in connection with the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
