Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan tries to cancel article 9 of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020, the Armenia-based Graparak newspaper says, APA reports.

"A few months ago, Nikol Pashinyan declared to a limited circle of his party members that they would cancel article 9 of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020, which defines the process of opening communications."

Reminding that Pashinyan has been hinting at this for a long time, the newspaper says that during the discussion of the 2024 budget draft, the head of government made this clear.

"Currently, we are in the process of creating a special unit in the National Security Service, the purpose of which will be to ensure the security of communications. Apart from that, we launched patrol police throughout the country, whose most important tasks include the crossing of people, cargo, goods and vehicles through communications," Pashinyan added.

Note that according to Article 9 of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020, the Russian Federal Security Service should control transport communications between the rest of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan in the territory of Armenia.
