Work on the restoration of the Kars-Gyumri railway and related infrastructure is ongoing, but it is still too early to speak about deadlines, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Armenpress reports.
“We are working in this direction, and I cannot say anything about deadlines at the moment because there are many technical assessment works,” he noted during a briefing today.
According to Pashinyan, technical issues are being identified.
“We need to assess the needs and begin the work,” the prime minister added.
Note that within the framework of the normalization of Armenia-Türkiye relations, a meeting of the Armenia-Türkiye joint working group on the restoration and operation of the Gyumri-Kars railway was held in Kars on April 28. The sides emphasized the importance of putting the Gyumri-Kars railway into operation as soon as possible in the context of expanding transport communications in the region.
