One of the important issues for Armenia is ensuring that the emotions of Armenians who left Karabakh are not exploited, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during his speech at the European Parliament, APA reports.

According to Pashinyan, Armenians who left Karabakh should obtain Armenian citizenship and live permanently in the Republic of Armenia.

“We have already launched a settlement program for them, and this program has benefited 4,886 families. In resolving this issue, we need maximum support from our international partners to strengthen peace,” he said.

Pashinyan noted that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan requires daily attention.

“Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been ensured, but it requires daily care, otherwise it may collapse very quickly, just as regions that had remained stable for years fell into the vortex of war within a few days before our eyes,” he said.

Pashinyan also addressed criticism directed at the Armenian authorities over the fact that the peace achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not perfect.

“We are criticized for the peace achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan not being ideal. Please tell me where there has ever been an ideal peace, where it has existed and when it has existed. On the contrary, striving for peace can make it as close to perfect as possible,” Nikol Pashinyan added.
