If it turns out that Garegin II has broken his vow of celibacy and has a child, he will no longer be able to remain Catholicos of All Armenians, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page, APA reports.
“I say this with respect for everyone’s right to privacy and family life, but the Catholicos of All Armenians cannot have such a personal life. I raise this issue as a follower of the Armenian Apostolic Church, because I see a matter of moral security here, and I speak about it as the Prime Minister of Armenia, because I see an issue of national security,” the Prime Minister said.
Pashinyan called on Etchmiadzin to express a position on this matter: “Further clarification will be provided on the issue from now on.”
