The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, commented on the accusations that the Armenian leadership recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and essentially rejected the Russian option, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

During the "government hour" in the parliament, Pashinyan reiterated that Russia's proposal was submitted last August during the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Khovayev’s visit to the region.

In September, Khovayev visited the region again to get answers to his proposals. The diplomat first visited Baku on September 11, and then Yerevan on 13 September," Pashinyan said.

He spoke about the battles that took place on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border last September.

"Russia and the CSTO have not responded to Armenia's written and oral requests regarding the fulfillment of obligations arising from the agreements. At the same time, Armenia gave a positive response to Russia's status proposal. But already on October 6 in Prague, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on the mutual recognition of territorial integrity. Armenia made this decision to protect its territorial integrity," he said.

Responding to his opponents, the Prime Minister noted that all those who consider this decision wrong say that Armenia should not be a sovereign state.
