Armenia eagerly awaits the opening of the border with Türkiye and the restoration of railway links between the two countries, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a panel discussion held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, APA reports.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia is currently focused on the implementation of the TRIPP project. He said that as a result of the project’s implementation, Armenia will emerge from the transport isolation that has existed since the early 1990s.
“First of all, we will have a railway connection with Azerbaijan. We eagerly await the opening of the Armenia-Türkiye border and the restoration of railway links between the two countries. In a broader context, this will change international logistics because the international community will gain a new route between East and West,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian Prime Minister noted that the implementation of these projects could also pave the way for the opening of railway links connecting the Persian Gulf region with the Black Sea basin.
