Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced the establishment of a Coordination Council for the renewal of the Armenian Church together with 10 bishops who oppose the current Catholicos, APA reports.
Pashinyan shared the announcement on his Telegram channel.
According to the document adopted by the council, it envisions promoting reforms within the Armenian Apostolic Church, removing the current head of the church from office, appointing an interim leader in place of the Catholicos, adopting a church charter, and electing the Catholicos of All Armenians in accordance with established procedures.
