"Moscow has not received an official notification from Yerevan regarding the termination of the concession of the South Caucasus Railway," said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, APA reports.

According to him, various proposals are being voiced in the public sphere, but Russia is in favor of continuing cooperation.

“We are in favor of resolving these issues through consultations and dialogue,” Overchuk said.

He recalled that in January 2026, decisions were made on the reconstruction of two sections of the Armenian railways that provide connections with Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

Overchuk noted that immediately after Russia announced its readiness to participate in the reconstruction of these sections, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Moscow’s participation deprives Armenia of competitive advantages.

He also emphasized that it is difficult to assess how Armenia will be fully connected to the outside world without a connection with Russian Railways.
