A total of 26,233 Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh have obtained Armenian citizenship, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia David Khachatryan, said in response to a question from Babken Tunyan, a member of the “Civil Contract” faction, APA reports, citing Armenpress.
According to him, another 6,696 people have applied for citizenship, and their applications are currently under review.
“To date, 26,233 people have received citizenship, of whom 16,919 are adults and 8,314 are minors. The number of those who have applied for citizenship and whose applications are still being processed stands at 6,696,” Khachatryan said.
