One person reportedly died and several more were injured in the crash landing of a helicopter in Russia’s Far Eastern Magadan Region, a local lawmaker told TASS, APA reports.
"A helicopter made a crash landing. There were about 20 people aboard. Probably, one of them died and a couple more received injuries. Rescuers and medics are on their way to the crash site," Oleg Yegorkin, speaker of the Omsukchansk municipal legislature, said.
According to local emergencies services, presumably it was a Mi-8 helicopter which airlifted rotation workers from an ore mine. According to preliminary data, the crash was caused by the engine failure.
