"Moscow will strengthen cooperation with Tehran, sanctions are not an obstacle", the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova said during a briefing today, commenting on US President Donald Trump's executive order on pressuring Iran, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

"In this regard, we have an intention to continue cooperation with our Iranian friends and consistently strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, in accordance with the interests of our peoples. External pressure and sanctions are not an obstacle to this. Moreover, they sometimes even stimulate something that has been ongoing for a long time in bilateral contacts and act as a catalyst in accelerating processes," said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
