The withdrawal of the Russian military base from Armenia has never been raised in the Moscow-Yerevan dialogue, said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, during today’s briefing, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to her, although there are problematic issues between the two countries, the issue of withdrawing the Russian military base from Armenia has not been brought up.
“We have a very broad spectrum of cooperation with Armenia. Certainly, like between any other countries, we do have problematic issues. Undoubtedly, our relations have their own challenges and dynamics. We maintain a regular dialogue with Yerevan through all institutions. The issue of withdrawing the Russian military base in Armenia has practically never been raised. Perhaps this matter has been discussed internally (in Armenia—ed.) within society or among expert circles. That is a different matter. However, in our mutual interaction with Yerevan, this issue has not been raised,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated.
