Damage caused by drone attacks on oil refineries in Russia has decreased as passive protection measures have been introduced, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, APA reports.

Novak said four oil refineries came under attack last night.

According to him, four drone attacks were repelled, while only one refinery sustained damage.

“The authorities have prepared measures to support oil refineries,” he said.

Novak added that Russia’s diesel fuel market remains balanced and that the country has sufficient supplies.

“If we increase production, Russia may resume diesel exports. The ban on gasoline exports is temporary, as fuel production is usually 10% higher than demand,” he said.

He also noted that Russia’s remote and northern regions are fully supplied with fuel.

“Companies are supplying imported petroleum products. Once the market is rebalanced, Russia will return to using domestic fuel and resume exports,” Novak said.
