There has been no response yet from Kyiv to the ceasefire proposal by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 80th anniversary of Victory, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, Moscow has no opinion on whether Kyiv will join the ceasefire or not.
Peskov called Kyiv's refusal to respond directly to Russia's ceasefire initiative a manipulation.
The Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia is ready to start negotiations without any preconditions. There has been no response from Ukraine yet.
Peskov also mentioned that there are difficulties regarding Zelenskyy's legitimacy, but he stressed that the interests of a peaceful settlement are paramount: "This process must begin, this is the primary issue, while the issue of Zelenskyy's legitimacy is secondary."
