Nikita Zhuravel, imprisoned in Russia for burning the Quran, found guilty of treason

In Russia, Nikita Zhuravel, who was sentenced to 3,5 years in prison for burning the Quran, has also been found guilty of treason, APA's Russia bureau reports.

Zhuravel was sentenced to 13,5 years in prison for treason.

Considering the aggregate of his crimes, he has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in a high-security penal colony.

According to the investigation, Zhuravel actively offered cooperation to a representative of Ukraine's Security Service via messenger. In March 2023, he provided them with video recordings of a train transporting Russian Armed Forces military equipment and aircraft, as well as information on the movement of a service vehicle from one of the military units.
