Moscow ready to provide Damascus with necessary assistance in reconstruction of Syria

During Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov's meeting with representatives of Syria's new government, the importance of restoring trust between the Russian and Syrian peoples through compensation and reconstruction efforts was mentioned, APA reports citing Russian MFA.

The meeting stressed that while restoring relations, past mistakes must be taken into account, as well as the will and interests of the Syrian people.

According to the statement of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the meeting, the Ministry highlighted the importance of building interstate relations based on friendship and mutual respect, as well as expressing support for Syria’s sovereignty and independence.
