Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on Armenia’s participation in the conference on Ukraine, APA reports citing TASS.
At a weekly briefing held today, she said that Moscow considers Armenia’s participation in the conference on Ukraine in Malta as a demonstrative anti-Russian gesture by Yerevan.
“Previously, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan, came to Kyiv. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan contacted the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in Dublin. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan himself spoke with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Granada. In Yerevan, I think, they should be aware of their demonstrative flirtation with those who aggressively oppose our country. And there is no other definition,” added the press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to her, it is regrettable that the current leadership of Armenia is purposefully and persistently destroying our allied relations, which not so long ago it itself called the most important factor in the stability and prosperity of Armenia.
At the same time, the diplomat noted that media resources financed and associated with government agencies and officials contain anti-Russian statements.
It should be noted that Armenia was represented at the conference by the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan. He met with the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak.
