Gasoline prices in Armenia are expected to decrease due to the arrival of new petroleum products from Azerbaijan, said Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, in a post on his Facebook page, APA reports.

“As I have already noted, compared to last month’s prices, a reduction of up to 80 drams per liter in the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel is expected. I am pleased to note that in connection with this development, other companies engaged in the sale of petroleum products are also working toward lowering prices,” Gevorg Papoyan wrote.

The minister stated that in 2025, 6,580 tons of grain were transported by rail to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. According to him, 1,000 tons of the imported grain belong to Kazakhstan, and 5,580 tons belong to Russia. At the same time, 1,210 tons of Azerbaijani gasoline were imported.

“As of January 8, 2026, 8,485 tons of Russian grain have been transported by rail to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory, with 4,103 tons currently en route. At the same time, 7,600 tons of Azerbaijani petroleum products have been transported, including 6,100 tons of gasoline and 1,500 tons of diesel fuel,” he said.
