"The issue of the Russian military presence in Syria is being discussed," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said as she answered a question about the status of Russian bases in Syria, at a briefing held today, APA reports.
According to her, Russia is committed to developing ties with Syria.
"We have repeatedly said that we are committed to the consistent and active development of bilateral Russia-Syria relations and cooperation in various fields," Zakharova said in response to a question about the current stage of negotiations on the status of Russian military bases and the conditions put forward by Syria’s new authorities.
