Russia was ready for “certain territorial concessions” during the talks held in Alaska, Vedomosti writes, citing a source close to the negotiation process, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

According to the source, these concessions were not related to the status of Donbas. In addition, the Russian side could have made concessions regarding the size of the Ukrainian armed forces.

The source claims that establishing broader cooperation with the United States, including economic cooperation, was an important condition in the talks.

“Russia is ready to continue negotiations only taking into account the situation on the ground, as well as if the U.S. authorities exert pressure on Ukraine and the European Union,” Vedomosti wrote.

Note that talks between Russia and the United States in Alaska took place in August last year with the participation of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
