Russia plans to ban WhatsApp and replace it with Max, APA reports, citing The Times.
It was noted that the Max social networking platform was created by the Russian state and will allow for more extensive monitoring of citizens. The program in question will allow government agencies to monitor the financial activities, locations, and Internet browsers of Russians.
It is reported that the application will be downloaded to smartphones from September 1.
Recall that a few days ago, Anton Gorelkin, deputy chairman of the Russian parliament's information technology committee, said that WhatsApp should prepare to leave the Russian market.
