Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's team assumes that he will hold backstage negotiations with the Russian authorities regarding the fate of the road passing through Syunik (Zangezur) during his visit to Altai, APA reports, citing Hraparak publication.

According to the publication, the "Civil Contract" party believes that Pashinyan will discuss the "corridor" issue with Moscow.

Note that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will pay a two-day working visit to Russia on July 24. The Armenian leader will participate in an international conference on nature conservation in Altai.

Recall that US Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack told journalists in New York that his country has offered to take control of the Zangezur corridor. According to him, the US has offered to control the 32-kilometer Zangezur corridor for 100 years. "Thus, both sides will be able to use this corridor," the diplomat said.

Pashinyan, however, did not rule out the possibility of the US leasing the Zangezur corridor.

The Spanish publication Periodista Digital has claimed that it has obtained a secret memorandum on the Zangezur corridor and that this document was approved by Armenia and the United States.
