Lukashenko sworn in as Belarus' president

Today, an inauguration ceremony for Alexander Lukashenko was held in Minsk, APA reports.

He has officially assumed his duties.

During the ceremony, he addressed claims regarding the existence of a totalitarian regime and lack of freedom of speech in his country, stating: "Investigations by the current U.S. administration have revealed that USAID and NED financed coup attempts and color revolution scenarios in various countries, including ours, in 2020. Democracy in Belarus is greater than that of those who claim to be its standard-bearers."

It should be noted that the presidential elections in Belarus took place on January 26, 2025. Alexander Lukashenko won with 86.82% of the votes and was re-elected as president. He has been leading Belarus since July 1994.
