Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared 2026 the Year of Belarusian Women, APA reports.
"We honor our mothers, wives, and daughters one day a year. It's time to recognize their special role in our lives and declare 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Nature has created nothing more perfect than her! Let us protect our women and our land, and defend our future—our family, relatives, loved ones, and friends—from adversity and hardship," the head of state said in his New Year's address to the people of the republic.
The country's leader noted that without love for a woman, for a girl, there can be no true love. "May every town, every small village, have a corner where, simply by remaining in silence, one can feel: 'I'm home. I'm on my land. And I'm not here by chance,'" Lukashenko added.
