Lavrov: US has changed its approach to Alaska agreements on Ukraine

"The United States has changed its approach to the agreements reached during the Alaska summit on Ukraine, but Russia will accomplish the tasks it has set for itself," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, APA reports.

According to him, statements made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicate that Washington has changed its attitude toward the previous agreements.

"Our conscience is clear. As the saying goes: we gave our word, and we stand by it. We said we were ready," Lavrov noted.

The Russian foreign minister stressed that despite the U.S. changing its position, the objectives outlined by President Vladimir Putin in June 2024 will be fulfilled in any case.

Note that after his recent meeting with Sergey Lavrov in Manila, Marco Rubio said that the proposals put forward at the Anchorage (Alaska) summit had yielded no results.

He said that signing a peace agreement was impossible because Kyiv did not agree to it.
