US President Donald Trump is the only Western leader who has openly admitted that Russia is interested in NATO’s non-expansion, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, this is a major step. However, Lavrov emphasized that one should not be too happy about Trump's actions until the Ukraine crisis is resolved.
He stressed that Russia supports the development of cooperation with the United States and that leading figures in Trump’s team are also interested in this.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also noted that Trump wants to dominate the global energy market. Lavrov emphasized that Trump has contacted all countries that purchase oil and gas from Russia.
