Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi discussed by telephone the prospects for resolving the conflict resulting from US and Israeli operations against Tehran through a political and diplomatic settlement, Russian Foreign Ministry informed, APA reports.
"The ministers discussed in depth the ongoing, grave military and political crisis in the Middle East, which erupted as a result of the unprovoked American-Israeli operation against Iran. They exchanged views on the prospects for redirecting the conflict toward a political and diplomatic settlement based on international law and taking into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region, including Iran and its neighbors—members of the Gulf Cooperation Council," the statement said.
Lavrov also informed his colleague about the delivery of a new batch of Russian humanitarian aid to Iran.
